A book I recently read loved is being released as a movie this summer. Eat, Pray, Love is the memoir of Elizabeth Gilbert. Gilbert, a thirty-something woman bored with life and marriage, divorces her husband, ups and leaves on a one year trip to Rome, Indonesia and Bali. Most people were either absolutely drawn to her story (me) or, hated it.
Some thought Elizabeth Gilbert is the most self absorbed person they’ve ever “met”. And, she may be. But that’s ok. I think that for her one year journey of self discovery, she’s allowed to be. One can only dream to have the resources available to be able to pick up and leave for a year in search of love and self.
I can’t wait to see the movie. The cast is ridic. Since Vicky Cristina Barcelona, I’ve fallen in love with Javier Bardem. I can’t wait to see him in this role. James Franco isn’t exactly hard to look at either.
Lines I love: “I used to have this appetite for my life and it is just gone.” And “I need something to marvel at”.

On my eventual reading list (maybe during a vacay) is Gilbert’s latest release, Committed. I’m not one for fluff books usually but a girl can’t help being in love with love (and far off places).
So, August 13, 2010. Who’s coming with me?
